I love paper crafting and have since a child. There is no wrong way to paper craft, and it need not be expensive. My husband loves catologs and we have several come every week, instead of glancing through them and tossing them into the waste basket, I go through them with my "crafters eye" and see what I can recycle; picture, phrases, ideas, etc. The same is true for cereal boxes, magizines, coupons, and other paper goods. We have two small children who love stickers - well, they can become costly, so we clip out anything the girls' might enjoy and set them aside. They love to use the glue stick and make their own stickers. Paper can be such an inexpensive art that allows one to experiment, create and add color to their life. Don't hesitate to paper craft.
