<description>Actually, to me, having a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus, truly knowing who you are in Christ, whose you are, functioning the way the Bible teaches are the most important things to me as a Christian. To me, its not about religion--its about relationship with Christ. I know people whom say they are Christian and have gone to church all their lives. They've never been 'Born-Again', and when they're questioned they really don't understand what you're speaking about. Churches are full of people that attend church for different reasons. Many attend not because of a relationship with God. There's a BIG difference in just going to a building and having a true relationship with Jesus. You can't have a relationship with God unless your spirit-man has been renewed. When you have that relationship with Christ, you begin to study the word of God to know Him and this is when you can do those things that He has commanded us to do in the Kingdom. If you are truly a Christian, souls will be on your mind first, and foremost. You'll want to reach the lost and bring them into God's Kingdom. You'll want to feed the hungry, clothe the poor, visit the captives (souls in jail), give water to the thirsty, and so many other things pretaining to God's Kingdom. You'll be concerned about others, their needs, what you can do for others around you, and you'll always be striving to pray for others. You won't be thinking of self, and what you can get out of others or the 'church'. The Kingdom of God and the furthering of it will be first. Remember, its all about Jesus and what He so unselfishly did on Calvary that's important--not self!

<description>It is not that Christians are mean. The real statement should be that the Church has not been teaching people on how to be warriors for Jesus Christ. We are warriors and not pew sitters. The Church does not teach about a life of service to others or that we are to live in community with each other. The Church was suppose to be a place for Christians to gather to be strengthened in their faith and to be a benevolence source to the people around them. The Church is coming up to a "T". The Church has to go one of two directions. One direction is its current direction, its current programs and outreach. If we continue in this direction the decline of the Church will continue and its influence in the world today. Persecution will then have to come to the Church to force it to depend on the Holy Spirit and not it's own abilities to fulfill the great commission and its very survival. We do not need more programs. We need to go the other direction toward community and community living as found in Acts 2. A community were we share with others what we have, so that there is no one in need. That is why my wife and I had to start a nonprofit called His Works Ministry. We want to feed, clothe, give shelter and find living wage training jobs for the working poor and the homeless. We want to be a benevolence source to our communities and an outreach for the gospel. We also want to teach believers on how to become a community. Rick Warrens new book "40 Days of Community is good but does it go far enough and take the next step?God's will and plans will happen one way or another , so you choose which direction you are going to take.
